Armenia is an emerging market with distinctive strengths that make it a highly competitive environment for the development of digital assets, fintech solutions, and Web3 initiatives.
One of the country's advantages is its fast-adapting business environment: new technologies, digital services, and online financial tools tend to spread in Armenia faster than might be expected in a comparably sized market.
In recent years, Armenia's economy has shown a steady growth trend, confirmed by assessments from international organizations.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Armenia's real GDP growth reached about 8.7% in 2025, with around 5.3% growth forecast for 2026 (https://www.imf.org/en/countries/arm).
According to World Bank estimates, economic growth in 2026 is projected at around 5%, stabilizing at about 4.7% by 2027 (https://www.worldbank.org/en/country/armenia/overview).
The development of the digital economy and the technology sector also plays an important role. According to the U.S. International Trade Administration, Armenia's IT sector has grown at an average annual rate of 20% in recent years, with more than 1,000 companies operating in the sector (https://www.trade.gov/country-commercial-guides/armenia-digital-economy).
The tourism sector is also showing growth: according to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, more than 2.6 million tourists visited the country in 2024, and that number continued to grow in 2025, approaching 2.8 million — evidence of the sector's steady development. At the same time, Armenia is considered a relatively safe destination: according to the Global Peace Index, the country falls into a high-safety tier with a score of 1.825 (ranked 21st), placing it among the world's more peaceful and secure countries, which creates additional confidence for both tourists and investors.
All these factors — economic growth, the development of the technology sector, international ties, and the digitalization of services — combine to create an environment in which interest in crypto assets and blockchain solutions grows naturally.
Human capital is another distinctive feature of Armenia. The country has developed a community of tech-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, developers, financial advisors, and innovative project teams. This is an important foundation for sectors that require not only technical tools but also the ability to learn quickly, understand risks, and adapt international trends to the local market.
Armenia also has a diaspora of roughly 7–9 million people, according to World Bank and Armenian Diaspora Office data, along with natural ties to various markets. This is important for the digital asset sector, since crypto assets are by nature borderless and are often used in the context of international transfers, savings, investment interest, and the exploration of new financial instruments.
Armenia's geographic and business position is also important. The country is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which makes it possible to operate in a broader regional market and benefit from the advantages of a unified economic space. At the same time, Armenia maintains active cooperation with the European Union through various programs and initiatives, which supports the adoption of international standards, the development of the financial and technology sectors, as well as the deepening of integration processes and progress toward visa liberalization.
Regional economic and infrastructure initiatives put forward by the United States hold particular significance — actively developed under the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and linked to the TRIPP (Trade, Resilience, Infrastructure, Partnerships, Prosperity) approach. This policy focuses on strengthening bilateral economic relations, energy independence, restructuring supply chains, and deepening strategic partnerships, which contributed to the formation of new economic corridors and new formats of regional cooperation.
Together, all these factors form a broader global environment in which small and flexible economies can effectively integrate into international markets by leveraging their position as a connecting link between different economic blocs — and it is in this context that Armenia emerges as a reliable partner for regional markets, international partners, and local technology initiatives. For OurExchangeClub, Armenia is not simply a place of operation. It is the environment where real local market needs, technological potential, educational activity, and international approaches can be combined. We believe that Armenia's Web3 environment can become more accessible and more competitive at the regional level.
